We almost always gravitate to what we don’t already have, or we remake the damage that made us, in an attempt to finally solve the pain puzzle. With that in mind, one wonders at the lurid dance of light to dark, control to concession, ease to avoidance. That we pair off at all seems an absurdist wonder. And yet pair off we do, over and over, wondering why the play never has a better ending.
